Why pain killers don’t work

A lot of normal pain killers like paracetamol, ibuprofen etc work on peripheries and hence they don’t really affect the Fibro pain. Opioid pain killers like Tramodol etc are not effective because these are outside Fibro pain pathway, and have risk of dependence on long term use. The possible effective pain killers are those which affect nociceptive pathways however the antidepresaants like Amitryptaline and anticonvulsants like Pregabalin and Gabapentin have their own potentially serious side effects on long term use.
